Crown Prince Alexander awards Serbia’s top 500 secondary school students at White Palace ceremony

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander II and Crown Princess Katherine hosted today at the White Palace the traditional annual awarding ceremony for Serbia’s 500 best scholars from all the secondary schools in Serbia.

At the ceremony, speeches were delivered by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vujacic, board member of the Eurobank, Prof. Dr. Nada Kovacevic, Vice Rector of Belgrade University and Mr. Matija Beckovic, member of the Crown Council and Serbian Academy of sciences and arts.

This ceremony was attended by His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvosno, H.E. Mr. Demosthenes Stoidis, Ambassador of Greece, Mr. Philippos Karamanolis, President of the Managing Board of Eurobank, and many other distinguished guests. 

In his speech, HRH Crown Prince Alexander thanked Eurobank for their support to this event, welcomed students, their parents and professors and emphasized: “Dear students, I warmly congratulate you with a wish that you continue to be the best. You are the future of Serbia. As we are all very proud of you, you should be proud of what you have learned until now, and you should continue to expand your knowledge. You should be proud of your hard work and your talents, and you should put them in service of your homeland. Dear parents, you should also be proud and you should continue to support your children on their path to a better future. My Foundation for education is doing everything it can to help young talented people like you to develop their full potential, so that our country could have professionals it needs and that it rightly deserves”.

Professor Nada Kovacevic addressed best students and wished them best of luck in their further education at Belgrade’s and other Universities in Serbia.

Prof. Dr. Ivan Vujacic, member of the Main Board of Eurobank, congratulated all the best students and emphasized that it would be very important that they continue their education: “I would like to congratulate all of you for your exceptional results, and to say that educated young people like you are the best investment into Serbia’s future, and that dedication and hard work always bring results, no matter what career path you chose.” He added that Eurobank has been a sponsor of HRH Crown Prince Alexander Foundation for Education awarding of best high school students in Serbia for seven years in a row. By supporting this project, Eurobank is supporting education of young people, people who are the future of Serbia.  

Famous poet Mr. Matija Beckovic emphasized that today’s gathering was the most important event being held in Serbia at the moment.
