HRH Crown Prince Alexander awards Serbia’s Top 500 secondary school students at White Palace ceremony

Their Royal Highnesses Crown Prince Alexander and Crown Princess Katherine hosted today at the White Palace the traditional annual awarding ceremony for Serbia’s 500 best scholars from all the secondary schools in Serbia.

At the ceremony, speeches were delivered by HRH Crown Prince Alexander II, Prof. Dr. Ivan Vujacic, board member of the Eurobank EFG, Prof. Dr. Neda Bokan, Vice Rector of Belgrade University and Mr. Matija Beckovic, member of the Crown Council and Serbian Academy of sciences and arts.

The ceremony was also attended by His Grace Bishop Atanasije of Hvostano, H.E. Mr. Predrag Markovic, Minister for Culture, Media and Information society, members of the Advisory Bodies of the Crown, members of the Board of the Prince Alexander’s Foundation for Education.

For several years His Royal Highness has given commendations to the top pupils of all the secondary schools in Serbia, who have worked hard to achieve the highest marks during their secondary school education. Every secondary school in Serbia chose a best pupil who received a commendation and appropriate gifts.

In his speech, HRH Crown Prince Alexander thanked EUrobank EFG for their support to this event, welcomed students, their parents and professors and emphasized: “Dear students, you are our pride and you are the future of Serbia. Your further education should be now the main goal of our country and of us all. My Foundation for education is doing everything it can to help young talented people like you to develop their full potential”. The Crown Prince also welcomed Mrs. Kathy Fanslow, President of Lifeline Chicago Humanitarian organization who has been helping our country for over twenty years.

Prof. Dr. Neda Bokan addressed best students and wished them best of luck in their further education at Belgrade’s and other Universities in Serbia.

Prof. Dr. Ivan Vujacic said that Eurobank EFG was very proud of this traditional event. He emphasized that his company has long term plans related to Serbia, and because of that it readily invests in Serbia’s future.

Mr. Matija Beckovic emphasized that today’s gathering was the most important event in Serbia at the moment.
